The barn is up!!

March 2009

December 14, 2009

Fire debris - the barn, lots of saddlery, blankets and all our hay, destroyed by smoke and water (it didn't burn) - a whole summer's work, gone.

Most of the debris from the fire cleaned up, ready for the new barn.
We chose a CoverAll to replace the old barn.

Materials for the rebuilding.

Crew arrives!

Pouring the cement.

All support posts are in cement sonotubes.

Support posts for the walls installed, fill leveled.

Walls up.

Starting to look like a barn.

Frame up.

Canopy being pulled into place.

Canopy on, end walls in progress.

Vents in the canopy will help ensure adequate ventilation.

Roll up door at north end so the tractors can go in and out - hay storage at the back of the barn.

Barn doors at the aisle, man door for the tack room.

The barn exterior is up.

Water rises in the post holes for the stalls - even with 2 feet of stone on top of the ground.

Stalls are done!
